Guarding Skills – Static and Retail Security
Following the unavoidable and necessary suspension of classroom training activity as a result of the Coronavirus, Covid 19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown, Prosecure Training, based on the available QQI guidance and Health and Safety best practice are now delivering a blended learning approach to delivery of our Static and Retail course, the majority of which will be provided through our E-Learning platform.
This approach will require limited face to face interaction between our trainers and learners which should will place in a Covid 19 safe environment per HSE guidelines on limiting numbers, physical distancing, face coverings and sanitisation measures in enclosed spaces.
We now have our Static and Retail course available online through the Security Institute’s E-Learning platform.
Day One 9 September 2020
10:00 hrs, Prosecure Training Room Tramore. Course registration, verify and take a copy of learner personal documentation, proof of address, photo id etc. We will provide a brief overview of the course requirement and facilitate the completion of the English language demonstration by learners. The duration will not exceed 1 hour 45 minutes maximum.
On completion of registration and induction learners will then given access to the e-learning platform including videos and mock assessments to complete their studies over a 21-day period.
An essential and critical element of the online training is the support Prosecure will provide to learners during the study period, using the most appropriate method that meets the learner needs including e-mail, telephone and zoom.
You must bring with you:
Proof of identification, any one of the following
- Current driving licence
- Current Passport
- Garda age card
- Dept social protection card
- Current PSA card
Proof of address, any one of the following
- Utility bill (dated within previous 6 months)
- Bank statement (dated within previous 6 months)
- Document issued by a government department/agency (dated within previous 12 months)
- Letter from PSA contractor (dated within previous 1 month)
15th, 16th , 17th, 22th, 23th, 24th September 2020
There will be a two hour Zoom session on these days, time to be confirmed, which you must attend.
A phone is not sufficient for the Zoom sessions, you must have a laptop, desktop or tablet to take part.
You must have adequate broadband and an area free from distraction.
Final Day 30th September
You will be given a time to attend the assessment at the classroom in Prosecure Training Room Tramore.
350 Euros which includes QQI certification. You can pay online at prosecuretraining.ie or in person on the first day.
You will have to apply to The Private Security Authority for a licence after the course. The cost is 90 euros and is valid for three years. You will also need
A copy of your Birth Certificate, passport or Driving Licence.
Foreign Criminal Record Certificate (if you have spent six months or more in another jurisdiction since the age of 15)
